How to forward an email as an attachment Print

  • 0

We may ask you to forward an email to us as an attachment to diagnose a problem. Forwarding as an attachment allows us to receive the original unmodified email including all of the hidden email headers.

It is usually insufficient to simply forward the email to us because when you do this all the hidden headers are lost.

Here is how to forward as an attachment in various common email software:

Apple Mail (Desktop)
When viewing the email select Message > Forward as Attachment

Microsoft Outlook (Desktop, newer versions)
When viewing the email message click the three dots (...) to the right of the sender (not the three dots at the very top in the menu bar)
From this menu choose Other reply options > Forward as attachment

Microsoft Outlook (Desktop, older versions)
When viewing the email message click the three dots (...) to the right of the sender
From this menu choose Forward as attachment
